These advanced counseling training courses are designed to build on the foundation established in the Fundamentals Course and cover a wide range of subjects to help complete the framework for the equipped biblical counselor.

Understanding Trauma
March 28th • 9am - noon
Biblical counselors need reliable guidance in understanding trauma in our world today. Our counselees are bombarded with worldly views and explanations of trauma that are unfounded and false. In this session we will look at the solid, biblical model for helping those hurting as a result of profound life altering experiences.

Counseling in Difficult Work Situations
April 25th • 9am - noon
We will be discussing the texts in the New Testament on the relationships, responsibilities and rationales that frame and focus our counseling of those who are struggling with their work environment. There will be in-depth challenges to the western notion of changing jobs when it does not suit the counselee. What should our attitudes be? When does our “right” to quit a job and seek another job actually violate the Bible’s commands?

Dealing with the Past Biblically
May 16th • 9am - noon
The past is a powerful thing. It’s not always bad and it can be very good, but it can also be intensely difficult. This session will help counselors structure the past of our counselees into biblical categories and then apply truth from Scripture that leads to powerful transformation of the heart.
