These advanced counseling training courses are designed to build on the foundation established in the Fundamentals Course and cover a wide range of subjects to help complete the framework for the equipped biblical counselor.

Using Scripture Intentionally and with Integrity in Biblical Counseling Homework
March 20th • 9am - noon
If we are going to be counselors committed to the Bible as sufficient for helping people change, there are implications that result from those commitments. We must have a settled conviction that the Scriptures equip us and thus make us competent for this task as we rightly choose the texts to bring to bear in how we accurately apply these texts in the life of the counselee - especially through homework. In what ways do we sometimes mishandle the Word in counseling and in how we assign Scripture in homework, and how can we give attention to rightly dividing the Word?

A Biblical View of Reconciliation
April 24th • 9am - noon
Reconciliation involves a change in the relationship between God and man or man and man. It assumes there has been a breakdown in the relationship, but now there has been a change from a state of enmity and fragmentation to one of harmony and fellowship. This class will look at the biblical view of reconciliation, pursuing peace that undermines conflict, and pursuing peace when others refuse to change.

Counsel For The Dying: Conversations at The Exit of Life
May 22nd • 9am - noon
How do we care for those who are approaching death's door and into the presence of Jesus? The Bible describes death as an enemy, an enemy that still plagues believers even if its sting has been removed. How then do we counsel those facing death? In these situations, counselors are responsible to minister God's Word effectively. How does one counsel in a way that is faithful to God? Or, how do counselors shepherd these folks to death's door and into the presence of Jesus?
